Regional Review - Midlands by Richard & Kit Stenhouse
The Musto skiff fleet in the Midlands
as with fleets else where is on the increase.
The newest member is Steve Tylecote joining the Rutland
fleet, now 11 boats.
Steve will add a new dimension to the racing as he is
the current Firefly National Champion and came 2nd team
racing at the ISAF World sailing Games.
Future events in the Midlands.
This
weekend at Rutland, Mike Hart is running a RYA class
coach course to develop coaching strategies.
This is being attended by Kit and Richard Stenhouse,
Graeme Oliver, Rick Perkins, Simon Reynolds, Ian Turnbull
and Paul Manning. The aim of the course is to train
accomplished sailors to safely deliver fun quality race
training.
November 11-12th the Inlands are at Grafham, the last
event of the season so should be a good one, see you
there.
After a busy season travelling, 7 Rutland boats making
it to the Nationals,
Team Rutland will be sailing at home through out the
winter. The winter normally brings stronger winds, making
inland sailing the place to be, Rutland at its best.
Next year in February at Rutland there is the Tiger
Trophy a Multi class event in aid of The John Merricks
Sailing Trust www.jmst.org.uk Normally 200 boats a good
blast and £1 a pint put the date in your diary.
