Date: 9 to 12 August 2018

Accomodation - a number of sailors are camping at Martleaves Farm - www.weymouthcampingandcaravanpark.co.uk which is close to the club.

www.dream-cottages.co.uk also has cottages available.

www.airbnb.co.uk, www.booking.com and http://www.weymouth.co.uk/accommodation/ may also prove useful.

The Racing
Racing will take place over four days in Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour which will depend on the weather conditions. The Musto Skiff class has enjoyed previous open events at the club and in the waters where the 2012 Olympic Sailing Regatta was held, and which also hosted the Musto Skiff worlds in 2012.

We will aim for three races each day with all boats racing as one fleet but subdivided into Gold, Silver and Bronze fleets and Youth, Master, Grand Master and Legend fleets. Allocation of fleets will depend upon the entrants’ track record. All entrants will be required to be members of the Musto Skiff Class Association.

The Club
The event will be hosted by Castle Cove Sailing Club, an active and friendly family club, located on the north shore of Portland Harbour with great views across the harbour from the elevated clubhouse and large terrace.
Social events will also be hosted by the Club on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and an evening meal for each sailor will be included in the entry fee. SWAGS and family members can purchase additional evening meals at registration.

Visit www.ccsc.org.uk for more information about the club.

Non Sailors - SWAGS, kids and anybody else!

Weymouth and the surrounding area boasts several activities for non sailors.  Please see http://www.weareweymouth.co.uk/about/ and https://www.visit-dorset.com/ for ideas. Club members can assist if you are struggling for ideas.

Snacks, tea and coffee will be available at the club throughout the day.

UPDATE 02/07/18

Lorna and the team at Castle Cove are well under way with the preparations for the 2018 Nationals. The social programme is taking shape which they hope will live up to the Lionel Richie challenge from Stokes Bay.

They are looking forward to welcoming the fleet to the waters of the Olympic Games in 2012 and hope to race in both the bay and the harbour to provide a range of conditions for the fleet.  With easy launching and being known as one of the best places to sail in the country, it's a great place to sail.  The club has also asked the sunshine very nicely if it will stay - response still awaited!

Lorna will be publishing the list of entries so far on the Castle Cove Sailing Club website shortly.  The early entry discount ends at midnight on 8 July 2018 and it would be great to get the entry list a bit longer before it is published on the web for all to see.

Enter now to save £25 and beat the price increase.

UPDATE 13/07/18

Nationals Entry Deadline Extended and pre-event sailing

We have just hit 50 entries for the Nationals and we are aware a number of sailors are still yet to do their paperwork ...
Just in case you are sitting in the fence, Lorna has extended the early entry fee deadline to midnight on Sunday 15 July.
To qualify, entry form and entry fee need to be with Lorna by midnight on Sunday. Lorna will provide bank details on receipt of the completed entry form.
Can we get to 60 entries?

Details on how to enter can be found here: http://www.mustoskiff.com/reports-and-news/2018/eurocup/GBR2-pre-event-info.html

Pre-event Sailing

You can drop your boats off from Saturday 4th August and go sailing before the event. However, this may be restricted at times due to access but there will be access for most of the weekend and Monday evening whilst club racing is on.
There will be a daily sailing fee of £10.

If you are intending to drop your boat off and would like to sail before Wednesday 8 August, please contact Lorna for information and to make arrangements. The gate to the club is locked and you will not be able to gain access unless you contact Lorna first.
