Update from 1/9/10:
Container spaces will be allocated on
first come first served basis; those who have paid have
guaranteed their space. Those who want to go need to
pay ASAP to book their slot. Deadline August 31st.
The class association will do it's best
to make sure everyone gets in but we need the deposits
down to confirm what we need to book. Note that we expect
we can get 14 in a 40' container and perhaps 6 in a
20' container. We will be juggling the best fit based
on numbers.
We are also aware that there are a number
of sailors who are planning to go who are not on the
below lists.

loading points and even perhaps organise an event prior
to loading to make the travel more worth while.

Peters and May’s Neil Curran has
been working hard to get the class the best possible
rates for shipping to Melbourne. At the moment the quotes
are based on the current rates and these will be monitored
on a monthly basis in order to try and reduce the shipping
cost.
The shipping time from Europe is approximately 38 days
via Singapore, so we would plan to load around middle
of November. Please note that it is absolutely essential
that all boats are clean, this includes launching trolleys
free of weed and mud.
Paul Manning is holding a class list for all those who
want to travel to the World Championships in Melbourne,
and this will be published so everyone knows who is
going from where, but for the moment please just drop
Paul a line and select which loading/unloading point
you would prefer. We will have to be paid in full prior
to loading, so Paul will contact you all nearer the
time with a final individual price.

Based on the experience of loading from Ovington Boats,
it is planned that 14 boats should fit in a 40ft container
and 7 in a 20ft container. Based on this please find

For mainland Europe ...
The planning for the worlds is marching
on steadily. Ten boats have already confirmed interest
for the Muiden (Netherlands)-Melbourne container. As
a further incentive, Huud Ouwehand is organising the
OZ Travel Regatta (http://www.mustoskiff.nl)
which will be held in Muiden immediately prior to loading
the container. This way, the journey to Muiden becomes
more purposeful and there is opportunity for some last
minute practice!
