Regatta at Brunnen (SUI)
Saturday:
The Urnersee showed up already early from its good side.
So nothing would stop a long sailing day after the early
skipper meeting (Saturday, 09:30). But the committee
waited (technical problems) until 12:00 to start the
first run with approximately 15 knots. In addition came
that some part of the course was’t aligned to the wind
but didn’t disturb the majority of the Musto sailors
(other problems as set up boats were more important).
The second run, also a long one, was sailed in weaker
and unstable winds.
Sunday:
Unfortunately the committee decided for the wrong basin.
So everyone had to endure 2-3h before getting back (thanks
of the „Strumwarnung“). Thanks to that storm a little
breeze cam up in the Gersauer basin and Roger said to
me "Solangs nöd blitzt (no lightning) blibemer
duss (keep on sailing)". Instead of going ashore
like the rest of the boats (470/420/Fireball) some Mustos
used the wind to practice. Just on time for the price
ceremony everyone was ashore.
It’s a pity that the committee disappointed
so many sailors. I hope those learn from it and next
year the regattas would be as perfect as the beach,
the lake and the weather!
