Musto Skiff Austrian Nationals 2011 (AUT)

On July 29th until 31st we had our Nationals at Union Yacht club at Lake Attersee which is also the location and hosting club for our European Championship in 2013. Our Nationals was held during one of biggest events called Austro Rent Cup, a big sailing venue with over 100 boats and a big party on Saturday evening.

This year we had all kinds of wind conditions, from stable thermal wind to westerly gusty conditions.
On Friday at 2 p.m. we started our first race with light southerly which increased to a 15 knots westerly direction with tricky gusts.

On Saturday we sailed the long distance yard stick race which counted double points due to the course length. Good tactics at the start picking the right side of the course gave you a chance to take a big lead.

After a while the breeze became a very constant westerly wind at 20 knots and more ? and Moritz Zieher finished the race first with a sailed time of 3 ½ hours. Moritz finished 4th overall on corrected time. Great job!!! In the evening we enjoyed the Party and Buffet.

On Sunday Afternoon we sailed 3 more races with westerly unstable gusty conditions. A great event and a new Austrian National Champion.
