Musto Skiffs at
Yacht Club Schaffhausen, Steckborn (SUI)
In perfect weather, but little wind 12
Mustos met for the first event in 2010 organised by
the Yacht Club Schaffhausen, Steckborn.
After a long wait on Saturday, two races will be sailed.
Although the wind was weak, the race took place under
fair conditions. Dieter won both races. Behind Fritz
provided me with a millimeter-battle for second place
(first run) and third place (second run). It was so
close that we did not know who was ahead in each case.
Michael had to painfully watch as a Dragon punched front
a nice hole in his Musto. So you better not mess with
a Dragon…
In the evening we were in the club with
a delicious risotto, sausages, etc.. and free beer flowed.
With almost the same conditions 3 more
races could be sailed on Sunday.
Already at 10am we went to the water, which with one
exception (me). I generously dispensed to a unique start
and left the Dragons the lead.
Dieter had once again gained the points
and showed us the rear, he won all the races. Also on
Sunday, Luca had a noticeable performance leap made,
also thanks to his good starts, it increased from race
to race. Philip tuning measures seem to have done the
trick, he brought his new Skiff always better going
and was up the fleet. Henke also sailed very consistent
and fast and thanks to two second places he was second
overall and referred me to the same points in third
place.
What I still wonder: What are all the
posts just below the water surface in the shore area
of the Untersee? Historical stilts? Forgotten snow piles?
Except for the somewhat weak wind it was
a perfect weekend with a perfectly organized host.
