Club coaching weekend with Ian Turnbull
Jon Simpson has arranged with top skiff
sailor and coach, Ian Turnbull, to run a weekend of
on and off the water performance and boat handling sessions.
For those of you that don’t know Ian,
he previously worked for Ovington Boats, and has sailed
Int. 14, 18 footers and Musto Performance Skiffs at
the highest levels (2nd at the Worlds), and is a nice
bloke too!
The event will be run over the weekend
of 30th – 31st January, with the club opening from 8:00
a.m.
Boats to be rigged excluding sails for
9:30 a.m. briefing
Conditions dependant, it is planned that
the time will be spent checking rig set up and sail
tune, prior to a series of on the water sessions to
improve boat handling and general skills.
The evening will be spent locally at a
suitable pub.
The club and MPSCA will be covering the
costs of the RIB, and so a very reasonable entry for
the whole weekend of £25 seems good value.
