Austrian Musto Skiff Class Association

The Austrian Musto Skiff Fleet are delighted to announce the foundation of the Austrian Musto Skiff Association (AMSCA) called “Österreichische Musto Skiff-Klassenvereinigung”

The AMSCA has been founded in December 2007. Elected Chairman of the AMPSA is Martin Mayrhofer, Attersee. Martin is well known in the Austrian sailing scene due to his experience and success in skiff sailing. One of his major success was a 24th place at the last Worlds at Lake Garda or his latest win at the Attersee Cup 2007. He also sails with the Austrian 18 foot skiff team “dirndl + bua”. Home of the Austrian Musto Skiff Association is the sailing club “Segelclub Attersee” www.scatt.at the Lake Attersee, Oberösterreich.

Martin: “Thank you for the assistance to the members of the board setting up the class association. After three month of hard work in the winter time. Finally I did receive as the new chairman the approval for AMSCA by the board of the Austrian Sailing Federation. In 2007 we were 6 active MPS sailors in Austria. The Austrian sailing season starts in April and we are already 8 now! One used boat bought by 16 year old and one new boat by an experienced skiff sailor. We are glad to have Gerald Richtarski who is taken care of our sailing youth in different classes such as Optimist, Zoom8 and 29er. Running his training twice a week and organizing several events at different spots like Lake Garda. Such great youth work in our area will help us to win one or the other sailor for the Musto skiff fleet in the near future.

With “ i 3 Consulting / The Austrian Skiff Center” appointed as the MPS Dealer in Austria by Ovington Boats it is good to have somebody like Felix Luchterhand and Gerald Richtarski who is willing to take over some response to market the Musto Performance Skiff in Austria. Folks that like to look into the Musto Performance Skiff get the opportunity for a test sailing. I guess we have an exciting season 2008 coming up!

On the 3rd and 4th of May we have our annually skiff training organized by the class association at Lake Attersee. One of two weekends planed in 2008. Our highlight event will be the first Austrian Nationals on September 6th and 7th . Some of our next door neighbours from Germany, Suisse, Italia and Slovenia already decided to join our training or regatta at the AUT Nationals.
