Musto Skiff Open
at Ullswater Yacht Club
Sunny weekend welcomed
those making the travel to Ullswater for the Musto Skiff
Open. With a disappointing 4 entries due to a clash
with the Carsington Open the sailors were greeted with
a personalised race committee eager to get on with the
proceedings.
The first day saw 4 races sailed with
a light Easterly breeze offering plenty of places for
overtaking. It was Nick Marshall making the early running
to lead by one point.
After another tight days racing with the
breeze building it was John Reekie who was to capitalise
of capsizes from both Nick and John Evans to take the
win and the event overall in the seventh and final race.
Thanks go to Ullswater Yacht Club for
their hospitality, the race officer and helpers for
getting seven races in less than ideal conditions.
If anyone finds a mug in the dinghy park
it is Ian Judd’s prize for fourth. John left it on Ian’s
dinghy where he could not miss it. Ian decided someone
was taking liberties and left it in the dinghy park
for someone else to take back to the clubhouse.
