Ovington Boats are delighted to announce the acquisition of the Victor Boats share in the Musto Performance Skiff project.

Ovington Boats have been a 50% partner since the inception of the Musto Performance Skiff project, formally with Devoti Sailing and latterly with Victor Boats.

Ovington Boats has purchased the Victor Boats share in the project giving them complete control over building, sales and marketing of the class.

Dave Hall, Ovington Boats Sales Director said; “Ovington Boats have been a key partner in the Musto Performance Skiff project from the very outset and to develop the class further, as its international growth increases, required further investment in all areas. Increasing our stake in the project allows us to support the growth in the class”

Paul Manning, the Operations Director with Victor Boats will continue to provide key regatta support for the class , Paul says “Following the classes continued growth in both the UK and overseas the project has out-grown Victor Boats. To support the next phase the transition to full ownership to Ovington Boats is the obvious next step. I look forward to working with Ovington Boats to provide the continuity in regatta support”

Ovington Boats are also taking the opportunity, in partnership with Musto Performance Clothing class sponsor, to support the future development of the Musto Performance Skiff Class Association (MPSCA) through the provision of a long-term sponsorship package.

Simon Reynolds; MPSCA Chairman said “We all know the team at Ovington Boats and this news is well received by the sailors; the vision showed by Ovington Boats and Musto Performance Clothing through their recognition of the importance of long-term funding of the MPSCA gives us a great platform from which we can build future successes”

In many respects this announcement is business as usual with an even brighter future ahead. Ovington Boats has excellent back office operations to support the Musto Performance Skiff sailors and an extensive World-wide dealer network to support the international development of the class.

About the Musto Performance Skiff.

The Musto Performance Skiff is a lightweight one person trapeze dinghy with wings, trapeze and asymmetric spinnaker. The class is sailed in 17 countries world wide by men and women, the boat supports a wide range of bodyweights. The class achieved ISAF Recognized Status in 2006. The class is marketed world wide by Ovington Boats and there are dealers based in 18 countries. In 2007 the class held its first World Championships, following ISAF ratification, which attracted 86 entries from 13 nations.
