Musto Skiffs at R.C.N.Denia(Spain)

On 29, 30 of April and 1 May, R.C.N.Denia(Spain) organized one of the biggest dinghy races this year, called Deniavela 2006. More than 300 entries, 11 different dinghy classes and three diferent race areas showed why Deniavela is becoming an unavoidable date.

This regatta gives the prizes for the best local sailor on every class. This means that this race decides wich ones can finally race on spanish nationals, wich are not open races in most of our classes.

It was also a great event for Mustoskiff class. For the first time the whole spanish fleet met in a race. Sailors from Malaga, Palma de Mallorca and Valencia came one day before the event started for some training.

9 races, winds between 12 and 18 kn and warm days. This all means that races where as usual, great battles between friends.

We also showed some new techniques of crossing finishing lines, as current moved capsized boats after a final gibe inside the line(don´t you know that spanish make this crazy things?). Jokes aside, we all had great event and great courses provided by a well known by the class official, Maria Torrijo.

A good perfomance was showed by Justo Matinez (ESP-148), Jose Mallent(ESP-140) and Luis Portella(ESP-103). Also Alejandro Sanchez, who is recovering from an injure in his knee, made a good effort.

We have to thank also R.C.N.Denia for the passion they put on promoting Mustoskiff sailing. We had the best place on the dinghy park area, so lot of people joined us during the weekend in order to know more about the boat.
