Rule Change
Following a poll of members (see
Q46) and a trial under the guidance of the MPSCA
we have decided to allow the cunningham purchase ratio
to be increase to 8:1.
The trial has bee run over a period of
5 months and sailors of various shapes and sizes have
used the 8:1.
It is felt that this makes it easier for
smaller sailors to apply tension and to uncleat when
loaded.
Please note that 8:1 does give huge purchase
and that if you are not familiar with the boat there
is a risk of over doing it ...
Two systems have been tried and both have
their fans ... the choice is yours.
