Open
Dutch Skiff Trophy 2005 won by MPS sailor Harry Hensen.
(October 1st and 2nd 2005)
The
first Open Dutch Skiff Trophy ever held is won by a
Mustoskiff!
Harry Hensen has sailed a near superior weekend with
six out of ten races won.
The weekend was open for all skiffs and can be considered
as very successful. Skiffs from Holland, Belgium and
Germany attended this weekend so it was an international
event.
On Saturday there was a 20 knots breeze. On Sunday an
8-10 knots breeze.
With three boats, the Musto Skiff was
the biggest fleet with Hein Pieter Okker at 10th place,
Huud Ouwehand at 6th place and Harry Hensen as the overall
winner.
Where Harry was in perfect physical shape (he did the
over 40 kilometer marathon only a week before) Huud
and Hein Pieter were not.
Huud had the best boatspeed in the windy
Saturday conditions of all three Mustos but appeared
to be a master in screwing up races. With a huge lead
in the first race he, in stead of finishing, sailed
the course one time too many, ending up last. The second
race he missed the first mark completely (not the only
one) due to a coursechange.
Capsizing in other races did the rest.
Also Hein Pieter did a lot of capsizing
and missed a lot of races. Hein Pieter and Huud will
need some more time to improve their boathandling techniques
and their physical shape.

for the results of this weekend.
Regards,
Huud Ouwehand
