Whitstable Yacht Club Open
- 22 &23rd May 2004
The
19 sailors who made the trip to Whitstable had 5-10
knots of breeze and a slight chop on the racecourse.
The first
two races saw the usual suspects hit the front with
Sten taking the first race and trotter the second.
Race 3 was
lead from start to finish by Martin Boatman who was
followed home by Trotter and Ian Turnbull, with Sten
only managing a 6th and Kev being OCS it was looking
good for Trotter.
Race
4 saw Paul Clements take the win followed closely by
Trotter. Good pressure down the last run saw Martin
take 4 places to steal the 3rd spot from Kev on the
line.
Sunday
was another light wind affair and as the wind disappeared
it was Ian Turnbull who kept his head to lead the fleet
over the line with Paul Clements and Kit Stenhouse taking
2nd and 3rd.
The
final race was abandoned so Trotter took overall Ovingtonsy
with Sten, Martin and Kev having to be split by count
back. With all 5 races having a different winner this
was the most competitive Musto Skiff event to date.
Thanks
must go to Whitstable Yacht Club for hosting another
fantastic event.
Overall Results:
1st
Ian Trotter.
2nd Richard Stenhouse;
3rd Martin Boatman;
