Modified
"boatbreaker" (Huud Ouwehand)
I
use two Ronstan tripleblocks one with a cleat, an S-hook,
a wide shackle and some rope to build the boatbreaker.
I also replaced the standard chainplate with one used
on the 49er. It has holes wide enough to attach the
boatbreaker to.
This
shot compares the shackle with the one used with the
main halyard.
You
only have to pull the forestay one or two cm further
down to apply the right tension to the rig because the
chainplate will not be pushed forward due to the boatbreaker
being attached to the chainplate.
Note: put the line trough the blocks
as shown in the picture, because if you keep the blocks
parallel to each other, the line will get lots of resistance
due to crossing lines!
