Boats for regattas for foreign visitors

Suggestion by Dominik Walchli this weekend.
He is looking forward to welcoming some GBR sailors to the Oberhofen regatta & suggested a way we could make it easier for sailors to attend events in different countries. Travelling from UK to Switzerland for a weekend regatta is a big shout!

There are plenty of Musto Skiffs in Switzerland that don't get enough exercise (probably their owners as well but that's another matter...).
Of course people already borrow boats on an ad-hoc basis, and in more organised way for major championships e.g. Worlds. Could we make it easier?
I'll start, as I have another [boat] project I won't be attending as many Musto Skiff regattas as I used to.
My boat is race ready and lives in a garage on its road trailer, if somebody wants to borrow it they can fly into Geneva, collect it for a regatta and just drop it back.

Of course we could tweak the model, if somebody locally has a 2-stacker then another local could bring the boat, so just arrive at the regatta,
(Happily there are 3 active sailors on Lac Leman now).

Would people be interested?
Enough to make getting some sort of structure in place worthwhile?
I can certainly recommend some of our Swiss regattas, and we would enjoy attracing more numbers for competitive racing.

It is certainly worth a discussion, although of course the most important point is having a completely clear understanding of the insurance obligations.

How are boats in Switzerland insured?

Sounds a great idea but I think the boat would need to be at the regatta site as hire cars dont have tow bars.
