I've just had a quick look at the long term schedule and see the plans are all for European and Australian events.

I understand this complies with the strategy of maintaining and developing fleets where they are being built or sizeable anyway.

Who fancies going a bit further afield, as the 505s, GP14s and Fireballs sometimes do. Surely after however many years we've been racing our fleet is well grounded giving us other options!

I know we have some GBR sailors, (pretty bloomin useful at that), with more than a small South African link. It's not somewhere I have been to before and would be keen on going.

Any thoughts or a complete non starter.

Would love and RSA worlds just a question if we would get the attendance?

Based on next year's AUS we would maybe get 20odd European boats and then add in some Australia's. So question really is would we be happy if we ended with an attendance arround 30boats?

I think we should always be aiming for a good fleet, there is also a requirement from World Sailing regarding nations and continents represented which we’d need to consider.

For your reference

World Sailing regulation 10.4(b) requires a minimum entry of 30 boats from 5 countries and 2 continents.

However, if a class failed to meet this requirement for 2 of their last 3 World Championships, it may only call its next such event a World Championships and award World Champion titles if the participation levels at that event meet this requirement.
