Tapered spinnaker sheets - length/thickness????

I'm looking into getting the class machine tapered spinnaker sheets.

These would have a seamless blend between thick and thin, and are something we have done in the past for our Olympic classes.

However, I would need to create a class standard, so would be grateful for your thoughts on thick, thin and overall lengths, as well as diameter.

My sheets are 11.4m long.

I use 6mm Excel Racing.

I use holts pro sheet 6mm 11m long you could not go any shorter than that as you are running out of string to hold on to when it is windy. I sell them tapered at £30 I spent my holt voucher on a reel!

The standard rope cutting list on the web says 12m of 6mm.

This is what is delivered but I suspect this may be too long for most people - I guess it it to cope with tall people (Dave Poston ...)

Just playing with this right now. I was out last night, and I was using my shorter spin sheets, but not tapered and spliced. (i.e. tied together at the cockpit) The length of that set of sheets was 10.8m This is the entire lenght of the sheet. It was definitely too short for me in the conditions I was in (20 knots) I wasn't even quite all the way off the back. My question is, when the others are specifying the length of their tapered sheets, are they including the tail to attach the kite to, or is that just the length of the loop portion?

Thanks,

Ron
