Used boat: Missing Hull Number, Serial # Correlates?

Hi all,

I'm looking at buying a used Musto, and there are two nearby without any sticker on the transom with the hull number. I dont have access to the sails at this point. Is there a way to correlate the serial number stamped on the hull to the actual hull number? I just want independent confirmation the hulls are the age they are supposed to be.

The numbers are:

GB-OVBMS658G010
GB-OVBMS657F010

Thanks for any info.

Hi

The two boats listed were built in June and July 2010 :D

If you have the CIN code, I can tell you when it was built. The sail number doesn't necessarily align with the date built.

When you say the sticker is missing, is it the blue and white World Sailing sticker or the silver Ovington Boats sticker?

Thanks Paul! I didnt have notifications on, so didnt see the response.

Funny as I had heard the boat was bought new in 2013.

There is only the sticker on the left, with the max load etc, the right side of the transoms have no sticker at all. On another Musto there is the ISAF sticker with the hull number on it, but not on these two.

What is the CIN code? Is it on the hull somewhere?

The number on the sail doesnt correlate to hull number as it is a number too high even for current production. So I'm a little confused.

so the digits of the stamped serial # indicate the year of manufacture I guess. On the other hull GB-OVBMS522H606, might be August '06?

thanks.
