Separating Mast

Postby Jon284 » Thu Nov 23, 2017 9:27 am

Hi Guys, I used to transport my mast on top of my van, but having recently sold it (the van) I have decided to split the mast and travel with it on the boat. Having got it separated I have found that there is what appeared to be black greece on the sleeve. Is this normal? What type of greece is recommended? Or should it be kept completely dry? As I did with my RS600.

Best to keep it clean and just give it a squirt of silicone before sliding together :D

In order to avoid confusion, I am sure Paul means silicone spray, not silicone sealant :D Otherwise you will never get it apart again!
