Speaking as the uk treasurer, there is a budget for training in the UK class. This is normally in the form from Noble sponsorship. Total funds not confirmed yet for 2017 but there will be something. (And 2016 is still not all spent.)

Normally it falls to the local sailors to organise. As was done last year by the Northern boys and the one at Stokes. Troy spoke of arranging a Datchet training but nothing came of it.

us the sailor would not know or have the contact details of a coach to arrange such a event or even go about arranging it

Just saying how it has been done for as long as I have been in the class.

Can't help further I guess apart from point you in the direction of regional reps. But I can confirm there is a budget for it:-)

I think the norm is to get 10 sailors together that want training and then ask for it to be provided, Stokes bay is always a safe bet and we have two of us from Carsington willing to travel to Rutland or Stokes bay next year.(-:
Hope that helps
Chris

The training has always been good and been accessible. Its a real strength of the class assoc.

Would be interested in some Datchet training early next year as was suggested.
Venues close to the motorway network are a good idea.
And right beside the airport is good too.
I reckon I could get a triple trailer down if it was targetted at championship newbies.

I would be interested in training too. Am based at Chew valley sailing club outside bristol. I will ask the club what the deal would be if we held a session at the club.

Would be interested in stokes bay, datchet, Rutland or Grafham

For personal reasons, it would be great for me if these dates could be put back by one week
