All,

Thanks for attending the meeting.

Please use this thread to document your feedback for Chris and Ovi's regarding the minor issues you'd recommend for the standard boat.

Here are a few I recall to start the ball rolling

- Increase the diameter on the kicker rope such that the cleat grips better.
- Add a block each side to the kicker take off rather than running it through the lacing eye on the wing
- The velcro strap on the foil bag isn't long enough for the rudder blade

Please post other suggestions and feedback below ...

-The dagger board slot in the bag needs to be longer.

-Revert back to old sail bags

Revert back to polar pubes in rudder stocks

Allow top 10 in world to have ranking as sail number

The lower bushing should be put in the bottom face of the stock, that way it doesn't need to rely on glue to keep it in as the gudgeon holds it in place.

Rudder stock gasket should be polar pubes, as per daggerboard gasket, as was in the past.
The foam now supplied has led to a few rudders being ejected on a dramatic pitchpole.

Allow top 10 in world to have ranking as sail number

the problem will be changing your numbers and possibly letters the following year or if you sell your boat.
it would also have to be 6 numbers to prevent unfair advantage ie 001 not just 1 for the world Champion.

Maybe a Gold Musto Skiff Logo or something like the star class if you want to be bling.
Every one could have a world ranking sticker in the corner of your sail.

Why would a single digit be an advantage? The weight saving would be tiny ...

I would think single digit would be a disadvantage as you are more likely to be spotted BFD ...

GER1 is shorter than GER001 so more sail can be forward of the other boats before you get spotted.

Yes ... but the shortness of the number makes it stand out more ... I'd say it is as broad as it is long ...

As the dagger board gets damaged when you pull it out of the boat and place it on the deck when coming ashore in waves it would be great for a small slip on the top of the kite bag to place the tip of the dagger board into. It would also protect the foil when moving the boat over rocks for launching.

Perhaps elasticated webbing would do the job.

suggestions that were also discussed.

Option to buy a bare boat for reduced rate such as 49er, maybe a few options.

maybe

bare hull
standard boat (no sails or rope)
standard boat (no rope)
standard boat ready to sail
race rigged (up for debate as to what would be included here)

Fitted foil bags. The new ones don't fit the foils properly.

Most of the stuff from Ovis is great.
The quality of the trolley tyres could be better though. They are rupturing after about a season and need replaced.

All other classes just have it like GER1. i dont think there is an advantage or disadvantage to it. Probably stands out more than anything. if it is an advantage to have it further back then you have earn't it for a year.
