Hi Guys,
I have been playing around with mounting my GoPro on my Musto, and found a good spot using a "roll bar clamp" on the tiller, but it is a bit low really. Although you do get to see the tacks and both sides, but only your feet downwind on the rack.
So have created a boom mount for my GoPro, it sits by the mainsheet blocks so is out of the way, and gives really good footage, but only on one tack. Here are some photos of it and a link to some of the footage I have taken so far.

Just purchased a kodak sp360, a great alternative to a gopro as it allows for 360 footage so one camera should capture the whole boat which is great for training purposes.
Ive uploaded a couple of versions of a video shot the other week and will have hopefully a correctly formatted version up later today. Here's some test footage that does work
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olv8VjtRv7Mreckon it'd be great if a these were on the top ten boats at the worlds and on top of the marks.

update: a summer of sailing and the 360 video experience works nicely for training, i plan to sail the at stone event and will bring the cameras, if anyone (who wont spend their time upside down) fancies taking out for the day i generally mount mine to the transom via suction mount which hasnt failed me yet. should be able to get some nice footage with a larger fleet involved.
heres my 360 playlist on youtube

Hi Ollie
How do you mount a GoPro to the stern to capture tacking and gybing techniques?

Tie a tiller extension to one of the wing bars and mount the go pro on this

hi David,
i use a kodak with a suction mount on the transom mostly, sometimes on the foredeck too, not too keen on a lone tiller extension out the back as they're always a bit too wobbly.

Thanks Ollie
I am not sure how you avoid the tiller and get it high enough. Can you post a picture of your set up or send it to Paul Manning. What sucker and mounts do you use?
David

i use the kodak mount pictured, which sits just high enough to capture the deck and just below the tiller, ill get a photo this weekend of it in situ.

this is the general position, it can go further outboard and up with the tether but i was in a rush yesterday to go sailing and it still captures everything i want from there.
