I've misplaced my two mainsheet boom blocks.

Have I got the right ones listed here?

Harken 2651 40mm Carbo Ti-Lite

Please let me know if that's what I should be ordering.

And any alternatives that people use?

Cheers

Andy

I have been using the Ronstan Orbit blocks, which do not have the problem of the rope lashing putting a side force on the entry into the Harken block body.

Be carefull with the Orbit blocks - I had them all over my 300, and two came detached from the boom on the sea last year. Turns out the clips both either broke or slipped off, but once they were gone there was nothing to reattach and it was a long drift in.

In fairness, Ronstan replaced the clips FOC and I had a good chat with them about why it happened - I think it was because I spliced them to the boom, and the fatter part of the spliced section moved through the clip just undoing it. Solution was to secure the fatter part of the splice to the eye on the boom to stop it slipping through to the block.

In fairness though, they look pretty cool, which if we're honest, is all that matters!

Harken have actually re-designed their tie on blocks due to the continued problem they were getting with customers tying them on incorrectly...

Harken are the way to go ... I have never had a problem; people just don't tie them on correctly
