Dan, can you give us a steer as to what the moth guys are using, I hear the old puck style wasn't vey waterproof.

Next question, the tactic works on a mount forward of the mast as the double screen faces both sides, most alternatives I have seen have one big screen which is fantastic if you can mount it aft of the mast. Any thoughts?

Most use novasails, or speed pucks and don't use a compass. The speed puck is a little notorious for leaking. There are 2 types of nova sail units, 1 cheaper than the other and the only difference really is that is has a gps compass rather than a magnetic compass. All have flat screens and I'm not sure on mounting yet as I want to put it on the boat and see what angles you look at it from to see if it is easily visible. If it isn't then this whole thread might be for no reason :)

On a trapeze boat with wings the viewing angle on most LCDs is not good enough to view on both tacks.

That is why the TackTics have the wedge shape with dual displays.
