Hi all, I would like to welcome Andrew Wilde to the fleet at Carsington, if the news is correct we might have three boats soon doing training (-:
If we do get three boats then it could be a good start to a midland fleet to train with (-:
We are talking of a few trips to Stoked Bay for some nice waves to play on next year.

hmm, I'd change the title to Growing Illusive Midland Fleet ;)
Chris, we can now only meet you in this forum, never on the water. I thought you were coming to Grafham.
Are you still a real person or you've now become a bot?

Hi all,
some are going up Carsington on Wednesday morning and afternoon with the Wednesday evening race for some if windy enough, Friday afternoon is sail and sizzel BBQ with sailing until 8pm if the wind is up. I think Saturday or Sunday for some dependent on the wind and other events, should be good standard of sailing by May for the Musto fleet?

Welcome Michael simms in his brand new Musto, Michael was out on Sunday for his first ever sail in his brand new Musto at Carsington with myself and Andrew Wilde, Michael went out in a force 1 and ended up in a nice force 3, Michael did a bit too well for his first sail, he will be able to give me some tips next year when he has got to grips with it, looks like we will be having some good racing at Carsington this year as Michael will not take long to get up to speed(-:

Its only 90 minutes down the M40 to Datchet - how come none of you made the trip at the weekend for the open?

Sorry Mark, I have a new puppy dog so making the most of the time before he is all grown up and the rest of the Carsington fleet have small children so find two day events difficult.
The Musto takes two people and one suitcase according to the CE mark, any room for a dog on my musto instead of the suitcase?
Welcome to the class Harry, the boat is great fun when you have masterd the basics. Its worth going to open events to get some tips and advice or meet us at Carsington any time.

The coverage of the worlds was great this year again and must have helped the class as it looked so good to tempted sailors also Dave's you tube posts, Thanks Dave :D https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=you ... UWFe9Kkw0Q .
we are struggling training at Carsington this year as the wind comes in lanes down the lake, one boat gets a lift or gust only one boat length apart so making it hard to try different setting, The Rutland wind was much better at Stens training and other training events at Rutland over the years, we have good access to the water midweek so good for any new sailors on shift work. The bad news is James went for a 700 on cost, such a same

Odd decision; the reason they are cheap is because no-one wants them ... which means when he comes to sell it he will lose a load of money; that is if he can find a buyer.

A Musto may be a bit more but it will hold its value; making it a better choice for people on a budget ...

It was hard telling him that in the long run the 700 will cost him more than the musto, such a sham for such a young person in a good position just leaving school, also he has a window at Carsington of lots of free training in the musto in the school holidays. I could rig and sort his musto for free but the 700 needs help with all the ropes that will cost lots of money and I am not happy showing him the correct kicker tension as the boom might break on his 700 at any time.
If I had known its only a few hundred he was short. :(
I am going to let him train in mine so he does not miss the window when I am at the club midweek so we will get him in the fleet :D

Welcome to the fleet Ian Ferguson at Blithfield sailing club, as the handicap went down on the musto over the years the boat went out of Blithfields clubs allowed boats limit on the water, Ian has said the club is trying to change the clubs rules, also this would means the boat would be able compete in the Blithfield Barrel, a four race series over the winter one race Nov, Dec, Jan and Feb it's round the cans and a lot of Merlins on the start line unless they put two starts on for us with sharp wings?
So we have got 1 musto at Draycote, 3 at Carsington and one at Blithfield that I know of going on the water.
