MUSTO SKIFF JANUARY TRAINING

VENUE: Rutland Sailing Club

DATE: 28-29th Jan 2012

COACH: Ian Turnbull

COST: approx £25 per person per day (depending on numbers)

An ideal opportunity to work off those mince pies and warm up for the 2012 season! Sailors from everywhere are welcome. The focus will be on boat handling and starting.

Boat storage between this training weekend and Tiger Trophy (4/5th Feb) can be arranged, no fee if booked in on Ians training

Please contact Ian on ianturnbullmarine@gmail.com or myself and I will pass it on to Ian, we still have spare spaces to start
the year off to a good start.

The wind was over the top Saturday looking at xcweather today 21st jan, the local weather station Wittering went between 21mph and 29 mph on average and some gusts as forecast 37mph, data (21-Jan 11:50 n/a 290° 28kts Few 4100 10 50° )looks like windguru and metweb were spot on. On the Rutland webcam a few feva zone squad went out but no sign of the 29er fleet training from the limited view of the cam, not many boats out?. we now look forward to some great training from Ian next weekend and for the pre worlds later on.
Please email Ian for the pre worlds training this year, same as he did last year for the nationals training at Mounts Bay.

Hi
I am not sure if the bar is open. they lock the gates when they close, the camping field across the road was shut two weeks ago, it is just a field and you paid a very small fee to camp when it is open, there is a noitice on the field gate. Ian had a word with Rutland, I will call tomorrow, as Rutland is full with topper training their should be a lot of people around.

Ian and myself have had great problems changing this date, the date change was due to the very high winds from last weekend, we would have had two days of indoor training and the boats would not have got wet at all last weekend.
We now have a low numbers event with the sailors now getting more training as Ian can now spend more time with each sailor, the wind is good for training this weekend so is better valve for money than last weekend.
Rutland has now updated the website and we will confirm the new water fees. http://rutlandsc.co.uk/cms/index.php?op ... Itemid=106
We will confirm if we are a single hander or dinghy?
Ian as helped with the money , thanks Ian, and the MPSCA have also funded this event to provide the best training for the musto class so it can move forward and progress.

we still have spaces left if you contact me or Ian direct.

The training went ahead and report on the way from Patrick for the front page. The Sunday had no wind but most of us think that in some ways the no wind day did us a favour, we ran out of time in the end Sunday as we did on the Saturday.
Thanks to Ian we had a great time and it was great for us.
