Hi All,

I've pretty much decided that I'm going to race a Musto Skiff next year, but I've never sailed one, and I don't want buy one then decide that I hate it.

Would anyone be willing to let me have a test sail in their boat? I live in Southampton, but I'm willing to travel.

Regards,
Andy

Hi Andy
you need to give some history of sailing to someone with a private boat as mains are exspencive, try sailing at an inland water first, see if the demo boat is at Stens training at Rutland in November or ring ovingtons up. The Musto is a great boat to sail but takes time before you get to keep it upright.

Have fun
Chris

Thanks Chris.
My trapeze boat sailing experience is in RS800s and 49ers. I'm moving out of the 49er as I can't afford to keep sailing it as well as I'd like to. In my only 800 nationals I finished 3rd, and in my only 49er nationals I was 8th (6th Brit, 1st non funded). Also, if I'm lent a boat, I promise not to hurt it.

If the demo boat were at Sten's training, I'd travel up for that. Would I be able to take it sailing even though I can only afford to buy second hand at the moment?

Hi Andy
I live in Staffordshire, with that standard of sailing you should have no problem getting a ride, The price of the Musto has not gone up for ages, it has to go up soon taking the second hand price up with it?
I have no dear but the costs must have gone up by now, so got mine in august just in case.
You will be hooked with the first sail.

The Musto class is so helpfull you will have no escape now, and with the mass of second hand boats for sale at the moment stens training might be a good place for both you and the people upgrading to a new boat?

Andy

If you can get down to Stokes Bay on a Sunday (and it's not blowing dogs off chains) you can have a demo ride in my boat. We can go out 2 up first and gauge what the conditions are like from there.
