Check out the link of local hot shot Mark Whittington (aka - pickets) having some fun off freo on the weekend. First time back out on the ocean in a couple of months (training leading up to the AUS nationals sailed on Melville water) and he is straight back into having some fun.

Snow? what is this thing called snow you speak of?

Nothing but blue skies and wind every day here. Its the best time of the year really with a mean maximum temp of 31deg during Jan.
The seabreeze we get here has lost most of its punch since Nov and the longer daylight hours makes for amazing sailing after work or on the weekends. The water temp is 20-23 deg so for all you european sailors I am sad to say you dont get too much relief on the hot days when you go for a swim (aka - checking for weed)

I might see if I can fix my track and get my toe wet this weekend and join Mark out off Freo

I've sailed 49er with Dave Mann off Freo, had a great sail.

Is he still around, he'd love the Musto.

hmm, too hot for me. given a choice between +31 and +5 I'd go for +5

Dave is still around and has given me many a pointer over the years. He is busy keeping the 49ers in check, coaching some of the local talent and helping out around the club.

Don't think we will be able to get him in one as he seems to like to sail with others on 18's and 49ers when he has the time.

+30deg any day of the year. Makes the swims more enjoyable.....

Give him my regards, he took me for a spin in 2002 when I was passing through Perth, had a BBQ at his house after. Very nice guy ...
