First boat in the country:questions

Hi all,
I'm hoping to take delivery of what I'm pretty sure is the first boat in the country. I've been sailing a 600 for four years and I'm sure I'll have more than a few questions. To begin, how tight or otherwise should the kicker be when single sail reaching? I note that the owner's manual suggests that you shouldn't jibe with 'excessive' kicker on. On the 600, I just left full kicker on for reaches and through the jibes. Thanks for your help. Can't wait to get started!

Welcome; what country are you in?

If you have 4 years in an RS600 I think you will find the Musto easier to sail; you just need to learn to use the kite.

Have you one of these? http://www.mustoskiff.com/dvd/index.htm

I'm in Dublin so, if I can sell my 600 to raise the funds, I'll be popping over for your nationals in August. I have a copy of Sten's DVD buried at home somewhere. I need to fish it out over Christmas. In the meantime, I'm a bit unfamiliar with these gnav systems and, given the nature of where I sail, I won't always be able to hoist the kite. Should I dump the kicker entirely for single sail reaching?
