Boats for regattas for foreign visitors

Suggestion by Dominik Walchli this weekend. He is looking forward to welcoming some GBR sailors to the Oberhofen regatta & suggested a way we could make it easier for sailors to attend events in different countries. Travelling from UK to Switzerland for a weekend regatta is a big shout! There ar...

Eurocups

Eurocup events are usually attended only by sailors from the hosting country. Eurocups atre an important part of the annual racing calendar and one of the main times that members benefit from Musto sponsorship. Does this fit the intent of the series? Should we have fewer, bigger events? Other ideas ...

Re: Lowers Adjusters - should the rule be changed?

Seems to me that the boat can be 1-design with, or without, adjustable lowers. Would seem slightly odd to allow easily adjustable devices but ban actually using them one the water (between races). Cost will be subjective. Good topic to put to the membership in the annual survey. Least cost option fo...

Re: Learning to Sail a Musto Skiff

Makes complete sense, as always in a Musto (or whenever apparent wind sailing), the more speed when the true wind is >90deg then the less apparent and a smoother ride. Less leverage on the rig when bearing-off :-)

Re: Broken luff track?

Hi Rick, Bruce, yup I've read-up on the whole saga :-) There's not a date on the page, my boat was delivered in 2012 and the track used for repairs was given to me by Ovi's in Weymouth, as far as i know it is the right spec material. If i receive the repair kit from Selden then I can be sure it's th...

Re: Broken luff track?

With a little trepidation I'm writing to reopen this topic. Bit of personal luff track history: New boat for Weymouth (476), windy event track broken in 2 places, 2nd baton near top of shrouds and 4th batten above lowers. Recently some windy regattas the track's broken again in each same place. Firs...

Re: Garmin Speed Freaks

My contribution from efforts yesterday 17.1knots, a welcome windy start to the season in Geneva :-) I'm not getting close to numbers mentioned above - no idea what sampling rate the GPS uses, I'd post a picture but file too large... I estimate around 20 knots average, upwind I was on almost max cunn...

Re: Comersee 12-15 Juni

Klaus,

John
