Re: Mast UV damage?

Looking nice! The polar-bear pubes are a 3M product, though I've seen some discussion on the price of this rising and Ovi's changing to a new product. No idea what the new one is though. Progrip is a retail name for EVA foam. Often can be found in pool supply stores or also rubber/foam outlets. Subs...

Re: Any skiffs in Stavanger?

I'll give you a euro for your boat.

Now you have a market value to pay tax on.

Or I have a new boat. So also win.

Cheers Jon

I hate it when my centreboard is too wide for those new pubes.

Re: Broken luff track?

C-tech manufacture a carbon as well as a glass fibre track so there are definately alternatives to the current spec.

Obviously there would need be consideration given to the (potential) changes to the mast stiffness, but thats pretty damn easy to address.

Just to add something to the discussion.

Well done, you get to choose from:
1 half finished box of rooibos
1 2012 pocket diary (slightly used)
1 prepaid phone card for cheap international calls from the US

I'll bring it with me to Lac de Der at Easter. :D

Re: Lowers upgrade

Meanwhile, looking at Tania's gallery Iver was so kind to share, I found this little pearl: http://photoskiff.com/sailing/tideride09/images/tideride09_d1_0951-copy-sm.jpg Proving that yes, even the best do have their moments of  . First to guess who this is gets something from my desk.

Re: Lowers upgrade

Guys, thanks for the replies. The reason I started this is so that an informed decision can be made by the class members. As it is currently presented, the implication is that there are lowers breaking everywhere and I would hazard a guess that you are getting an overwhelming response in the survey ...

Lowers upgrade

Just remembered one thing I wanted to follow up from this years survey. The question over whether the D1's need to be upgraded from 2.5mm to 3.0mm - where has this come from? Is it a knee-jerk reaction to some of the incidents at, or around, the worlds? Or is there a real concern over the specificat...

Re: inlands just gone

I had problems with Thom last year too. It took months to get photos posted on his site and by the time I remembered to look again, they'd been removed and he wasn't prepared to go back to look them up for me. Also, wasn't he protested by some of the 49ers last year for getting too much in their way?

Re: Adustable/ Coarse trapeze lines

Works fine with none. I think Iver doesn't have any. I just think it looks good - and if it looks good then it goes fast. Also it saves a little on chafe, so one less place to check.

3 won't work since one loop must pass through the other two.
